Ausdauer, I thought the Coolpix 800 looks great with a terrific design and great specs too. But the sample images look more like the 700 than the 950. From what I can tell from examining sample .JPGs, the 950 is the best among the entire sub-$2K market at recording subtle transitions and shadow detail. By comparison, the 800 looks "flat" or "muddy".

Is it my monitor or do you see these differences too?
