Yesterday, we finally got the last of our possessions from the old house (a rental) and cleaned it up reasonably well, and my husband returned the keys to the landlady. I am quite exhausted, and we still have boxes everywhere, but most of the furniture is where it is supposed to be. As of last night, all four cats were still around, but I've only seen one today. And I have been waiting all day for the Bell Atlantic person to show up and connect our phones. But we do have cable, and I now have cable internet.

As for buyer's remorse, it's not my dream house, but it's a good house, and the best we could do in a tough market. There just wasn't much new stuff coming on the market, and it was being snapped up before we knew it was there. I do regret that we were unable to secure the assistance of a good buyer's broker, Lord knows we tried, we worked with several, but none of them produced what they promised, leads on suitable houses as soon as they hit the listings.

By the time a house is listed in the newspaper, it's already old news. Many houses sold, in this market, the day they were listed, and some agents knew about houses before they hit the listings. We had agents promise that they were sending us listings daily, but when we had two at once doing this, noticed that their lists did not overlap ~ each was focussing on listings in their own agency, which promised them a higher commission.

The house itself is wonderful, except that I want to replace the floors in the kitchen and foyer ASAP, and the yard needs a lot of work, the back yard has so many bare spots I think sod is the best answer. But no house is perfect.
