I apologize if my remarks offended you, they were not directed at the team who spent many hours developing HP-UX, more at the culture that held them back. To put things in perspective, as much as I did not like HP-UX, Windows sucks a hundred times worse.

You are quite right to put me in my place on this.

The fact remains, however, that HP-UX is a pain to develop for, shared libraries change randomly from release to release, and it goes its own way on many Unix conventions. I will say no more on this subject, and that's the last time I use the work sucks other than for Microsoft products :)
