Greetings Mark, Thank you for your reply, Very good questions. Let me ask you first your understanding of " unconditional ".? Yes , indeed many Christians and non Christians have layed down there lives for other in what they understood as "love ". The act itself is very notable in itself externally but what you must realize is from where it originated from. Man in himself is a " selfish " creature, true in some it is easy to see while in others it might take some pressure to see this surface, nevertheless if we are honest with our selves we are all tainted by the same brush, which must only be so since we inherited this nature from Adam. The outwardly acts might be very couragous and notable but it is " heart " of man that is tainted with " sin " that God cannot accept since there origin is from Adam. When Adam partook of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil all mankind from then on has this inward knowledge of right and wrong, regardless of whether his acts are good or bad. Man can NEVER change his own " heart " regardless of what ever he might do or sacrifice. Hence we see the Wisdom of God in the Salvation He has offered through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Robert
