Micron's ads will make hay of Rambus problems

yahoo.cnet.com

"Dell and Gateway missed the bus (the 133 MHz system, that is)," reads the ad, in reference to the 133-MHz system bus that Micron uses.

RE: <It seems that ATE can't find some of the new problems that are occuring on hi speed chips installed in motherboards that pass with total flying colors by themselves on test equipment. john>

Yes, this is true. All the Rdrams and Camino itself passed Intel's Validation program and the ATE tests at the manufacturer. But the system failed.

Do you think that maybe even after the current problem is fixed that unreliable systems may be produced since the individual component tests aren't good enough?

Does everyone on this thread still think it is a great idea to mux the 16 bytes down to two in order to send them at 800 MHz? Instead of just sending 8 bytes at 200 MHz?

For the right amount of money ( and for a biz this large there is no limit on money) I am sure someone will build the test equipment.

I cant believe that HP wont build it for them.
