I've become intrigued by this "discontinuous chart" idea--the notion that the "perceptual GG," although not necessarily the "fundamentalist GG," should be visible at a glance from the stock's performance, as is so obviously the case with the Mighty Q.

Unfortunately the SI charting options don't allow you to see MSFT and INTC back at the beginnings of their GGs. But CSCO would seem to demonstrate a somewhat similar pattern, starting around 94.

Now try doing a comparison chart of QCOM, GMST, and CTXS over the last 30 months. GMST's chart takes off at the beginning of this year, indicating that some general public perception of its gorilla potential happened a while ago. Any boost that comes from the lawsuit settlements should be gravy.

It's CTXS that is most interesting of all, however. It goes up incredibly over the 30 month period, but in a steady line with no obvious break. This suggests to me that CTXS has NOT YET CROSSED THE CHASM IN THE PERCEPTUAL GG. If and when Merlin, LL and others can assure us that is has done so in the fundamentalist GG, it should be a fantastic investment, because if history is any guide, once its primate status is popularly perceived the chart should ramp up steeply.

Does this make any sense?

Good morninG, teQboy; it's a Glorious day in Qalifornia (btw, did I tell you I dropped out of the Q100 Club? Now I'm Q85 and G15 <g>). That's a pretty good overnight joust you had with Merlin. Not many could engage him so skillfully that he would delay his beauty rest <g>.

I'm headed to Palm Springs for a sales meeting this morning, and won't return until Wednesday, so my posts will be minimal. I'll count on you to keep things interesting.

uf

Tekboy:

Truly enjoyed the fundamental vs. the perceptual GG perspectives, and I agree that they make sense. Thanx for being a living example of why this thread benefits when lurkers and sideliners come out of the closet and post their perspectives. Hi IQ, hi energy and overall interest from people of heterogenous backgrounds make this a great thread. very well done,
