Larry, AOL was overvalued at 175 when the content playing field was wide open. But we are beginning to see consolidation, in fact Blodget said some things to that effect last week, at which point some of these also-ran portals like cnet and goto will decline... its about time anyway, this happens in every industry... the two leaders are aol and yahoo along with some boutique products which can survive in a smaller market space... anyway the point is in a climate of consolidation the winners can go up pretty dramatically... just a thought...

larry, To me it looks like AOL is ready to move up on the smallest bit of good news. It is at its current levels due to the MSN raising rates. I don't think the possibility of cable deals is really factored into the price although that is what the media has been mentioning. MSN news did the trick.

All AOL has to do is announce some sort plans in the same way Amazon did and the stock move up will accelerate.

Now the markets: It is too late for the selloff of October. Too many people have bailed out and will jump back in at any sign of decline---just like Friday. Too much cash (like yours) is on the sidelines. I got out at the end of July but realized after a market decline that a serious selloff was not possible this year. People have already protected their portfolios. Therefore, the market can only go up whether it is mid October or late October (or next week).

Best of Luck.
