One of the partner of Microsoft in Transpoint is INTF. This stock was the best performing computer stock for the last 3 months.This bodes well for the future of Transpoint bigcharts.com

Mitch - I wasn't quite saying that - I would have said... If your current or near term growth needs approach or exceed the performance capability of 8-way Xeon servers, you almost certainly need to pay the premium to go with a large SMP Unix machine (which means Oracle). If you anticipate being able to run comfortably within the performance range of Intel-based hardware, you should look at other issues (such as related applications and fitness for your particular application) to decide between MS SQL and Oracle. The choice of Unix or NT on Intel platforms for Oracle is largely a matter of preference, while NT is of course a requirement for MS SQL.
