Colleen, Thanks for the mention of Chuck's explanation. I got his email this morning and have already responded.

A lot of people, especially the younger generation, do not realize the contribution made by women during WW2. Not only as WACS,WAVES,and shuttle pilots, but,also as nurses in combat zones and in the manufacturing of the tools needed for war. Had they not been ready to step in to desperately needed positions, the war effort would have been much more difficult.

Since you say that you wouldn't be here without women's participation in the war, I can only assume that all operations were not "military". <GG> ^ ^ ^TD
