I talked with the Tech. guy at Lind. at length. He confirmed my suspicions that the "online" system is routed different and is more likely to have delays. He suggested using the blue screen if I required speed. I really hate the blue screen interface but am will to put up with it for now if I can get faster execution.

I have noticed that replacing an existing order takes less time than placing a new order
I have noticed the same thing. However Lind trys to tell me that there shouldn't be a difference because it is direct to the floor....whatever. I can see the difference and often use a similar approach of place limit orders way out and then changing them to meet my price.

I checked out interactive brokers a while back but was worried about back up systems if the net goes down. At least with Lind. if the system goes down you know someone will pick up the phone right away. Also with Lind you can day trade on paper thin if you feel like taking the risk. Interactive brokers don't offer day trading margins.

Best Regards
