Slider, All I can say is that 99% of the people that comment on the amount of work that is now available or will be soon available to FGI/HLX do not know what they speak of.

If a person is not intimate with this industry on a daily basis they will have no clue as to the "inner discussions" of projects that can promptly be moved to real work.

Oil prices have "just now" moved higher. It takes time for the projects to perculate. There is abundant capital available...abundant. This fact alone will move projects ideas to reality. Whenever there is money available, the projects will be built. Oil folks love new stuff...and if it ain't their money...more the better.

Don't be tricked by those numbers of deepwater rigs...they mean nothing...IMHO. I don't really think anyone from this board would be surprised though...after all it isn't a big news shock that deepwater is what fueled the entire Boom of 1997. Technology made it possible to drill in those water depths. Prior to that, of course there were no rigs for 7000+, there was no use for them...Now they can do it, so now the rigs appear - like magic.

The ODB interview with JL is just moments away...waiting on one last bit of the newsletter before it goes out - hopefully before SleepyDog's bedtime.
