Mr. Fleckenstein - Re: "you and they continue to live in denial."

Nope - I'm living in FAT CITY !

You're the one that was shorting Intel 4 years ago - and had to endure Intel running up 500% since that time.

Re: "no one has pre announced more misses than them, "

Look, FOOL - Intel has PREANNOUNCED MORE POSITIVE UPSIDE SURPRISES than they have DOWNSIDE surprises.

You seem to completely IGNORE that fact. You certainly give them no credit for it.

Re: "the same company that in nov of 1997 denied the existence of the 1000$ pc"

Yep - they sure did deny it. No doubt about it. By the way - I think it was February, 1997 when they "denied" it. By November, 1997, Intel had the Celeron (orignal cacheless) and the Mendocino Celeron (128K On-chip L2 cache) already in design. They in fact had their Market Segmentation strategy developed and put in place by that time - but missed that - didn't you, Mr. Bill ?

But what about today, Mr. Hedge Fund Manager ?

Intel DOMINATES the sub $1000 PC segment, the sub $800 PC segment, the sub $600 PC segment and is the ONLY CPU company in these segments that is PROFITABLE.

Intel has DRIVEN two competitors OUT OF the business in the past 4 months.

Once again - you IGNORE Intel's strong points of reacting to market shifts and PROFITING from such situations.

All you can do is bad mouth a good company - and lose money for any investors that are still stupid enough to give money to a guy who shorts the stock of the world's largest semiconductor company and one of the most profitable companies in the world.

Re: "well then please explain how intc record the last few years, profit growth that is,justifies 10x revenues...that still is a darling"

That just makes you SQUIRM, doesn't Mr. Hedge Fund Manager ?

Intel produces all these technological marvels that help advance the standard of living of everybody in the world and the only thing you can do is produce LOSSES for your investors because you don't happen to like the most successful semiconductor company on the planet.

It's simple, Fleckenstein - a LOT OF people see REAL VALUE in Intel - and you give Intel credit for NOTHING.

That is why Intel investors have made exceptional profits over the years and you have .... well, we all know what you have accomplished !

Keep shorting America's finest technology companies, Mr. Fleckenstein !

Paul

Mr. Fleckenstein - Re: "usually i just lurk but enough is enough.this is about religious conviction it is about objective analysis."

Does this muddled expression reflect your muddled confusion about investing/shorting successul technology companies?

Paul

<this is about religious conviction it is about objective analysis.>

Uh, Bill, which side are you on?

Wait, don't answer that. I can already guess what you're going to say ...

Bill,
No disrespect intended but with your atrocious track record how do you maintain clients and remain solvent?

Jim

Bill,

<the article was accurate >

Do you believe the following quote from the Barron's article? Is this an accurate statement?

"but that still means that the company has to sell
five $100 Celeron chips it makes to one Pentium III."

Thanks.

SK

Bill, RE: financial hanky panky (nice job mr. barrett)

I'm probably as skeptical as anyone on this thread about INTC's future (but certainly not as skeptical as you), but I don't see anything close to 'financial hanky panky.' Could you please elaborate?

If you're looking for companies with financial statements that are closer to fantasy than reality, you could probably throw a dart at the WSJ and get closer to your goal than Intel. And I have had a lot of success in finding and shorting financial frauds.
