John, in response to your comment, Furthermore, it's my very limited understanding that there are qualified labor shortages in many high tech development positions that are going unfilled due to inundation of Y2K prep positions. Wouldn't a "shifting" of the labor force in your scenario render the problem moot? The new supply of programers at least will lower the demands and pressure on wages which will result in lower paychecks. Still in overall lower income. BWDIK Haim
