Steve, that was a very timely and an appropriate read considering where the market is today. I just wanted to point out that I noticed some new 52 week lows as of close Friday in what I would call some well known companies. the average nyse stock had fallen almost 28% from its 52 week high. that's three times the dow's decline. MAT (Mattel) clearstation.com OWC (Owens-Corning) clearstation.com SWY (Safeway Inc.) clearstation.com Now I know that these ain't exactly Blue chippers but I think some would consider them to be Staples for the family. Notice that each made significant gains in the last Qtr of 98. Seams like holiday picks to me. Does history repeat? Credit Card season is knocking at the door. clearstation.com OT - Played hooky from work yesterday. Went to the river with a buddy and we caught a meal of Bass. Took the filets and salt/peppered, sprinkled lemon/pepper, shot them with lime juice, rubbed them with some honey/mustard and then placed them in a baking dish with lots of Land O' Lakes sweet cream Butter. In the oven for 10 minutes. Oh and baked some sweet potatoes too. Got them road side($4 for 1/2 bushel). Balanced out with sweet corn on the cob and some baby green peas.
