I thought the inconsistency was the argument that the United States should support maintaining the status quo ~ which, I believe you have stated, sometimes is engaged in perpetuating great evil. Surely you aren't arguing that the United States should support the perpetuation of great evil, merely to maintain the status quo of boundaries? Edit: the easy way out is to say that the United States shouldn't get involved in every problem in the world. That would be, I believe, consistent with your philosophy.
