Sprint's board was meeting Monday morning to consider a $65 billion bid from MCI, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The source, who declined to be identified, said the 12-member Sprint board was favoring the MCI WorldCom offer over a rival $72 billion cash and stock bid from BellSouth Corp. (NYSE:BLS - news) BellSouth was down 2-11/16 at 42-7/8
