Seems like BLS has a mish-mash of networks....This is a list of the top 25 wireless networks in the US. There is a short description of each.

wirelessreview.com

Subscribers: 5.01 million
Revenue: $701 million
Service in: AL, CA, FL, GA, IN, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN,
TX, VA
Technology: GSM 1.9GHz, TDMA 800MHz and 1.9GHz
Ticker Symbol: BLS (NYSE)
Web Site: www.bellsouthmobility.com or
www.bellsouthdcs.com
Subscribers Lost: 290,000 (due to property sales)

Analyst Perspective
BellSouth has a relatively strong brand name nationwide
and an extremely strong brand name in its region. The
largest problem that it faces is three of its markets use
GSM, making roaming impossible for TDMA customers.
Although it is a regional player, it will have to compete
with national players in most of its markets.

BellSouth has an opportunity to provide bundled services
and use its strong brand name to attract high-end users in
its region.

Steve. Bell South Mobility DCS is a limited effort in NC,SC,East TN, East GA. I do believe there is a Bell South analogue effort that spans other geography in the south but know little about it or whether dual mode covers all w/ one bill. Link to BSM DCS.
