Steve (OT) I sold tickets for the CAF Airshow every year in Houston from 1983- 1991 down at Ellington Field. In fact in those days some of the original WWI barracks were still there. Are they now?

They should be protected as part of our national heritage as that's where our first military squadrons were trained. In fact the Summer 1998 Volume 2 of the Over the Front Magazine has a very good article on the history of Ellington Field- 1917-1919- like a copy?

The SB2C was proud and flying in Midland and judging from its acrobatics, very well restored! There were actually two P-47's at the Midland show but they were painte din Naval colors and I mistook them for SBD's (Did the Navy or Marines fly P-47's?).

I could swear that when I walked by the Arizona CAF Squadron Pavillion that they were raising money to rebuild an A-20- maybe the one for the crash in Harlingen.

I also read that they discovered some famous ace fighter pilots Wildcat offshore Los Angeles here recently and actually in pretty good shape but covered with fishing nets.... And I'm impressed by your father's involvement in the CAF!
