I believe that you may have some company here. I don't know if they are athiests or agnostics but they have gone on record as not being of any religious temprament. You seem to have done your homework on the diests and atheists. I cannot disagree because, sorry to admit, I am not as prepared to argue the point as you seem to be. I will say, that I doubt that there are very many atheists in the world because most everyone has a faith or belief in something. After all, many things have to be accepted on faith because they are things that cannot be proven by sight, but nevertheless are evident by observance of their actions upon other things. Remember.... you have to have "faith" to be an atheist. In our course of conversation it will make no difference to you I know, but your attempt to rewrite history will fail just as others have. God Almighty may let this country slide into oblivion but He has promised to always know his own. George Washington was publicly a "Deist" as were many in those days; it was not safe to profess atheism Of course you would love to say that all these men were closet atheists, that would suit your purpose but it won't happen. Listen to the words of a man's PRIVATE diary. "went to church and fasted all day" Care to know from whose "personal" diary that came? hhmmmmmm....wonder why an athiest would go to church and fast all day........hhmmmmmmm...........oh, I know ....he knew some conversation would break out in the year 1999 and he wanted everyone to THINK he was a religious man by then.......hmmmmmmmm. dan
