OT Class is out for the day, so I thought I post one of my favorite Fishing Stories. Okay, One more Bridge story. This time were on the Mississippi at Helena, Ar. We were there fishing a two day, got a room at one of the casino motels so we could do a little gambling on Saturday night. Well I caught a few small fish Saturday and decided that evening I would search for information so I went to a small bar (whole in the wall type) to get acquainted with the locals. I knew I was in the right place when I pulled into the parking lot and saw an old Chevy with a faded out BASS decal in the rear window. So I went inside took my place at the Bar near these two Ole River Rats and ordered them a beer. Well we talked about fishing, the government, women, on and on until they came upon the subject of the Bridge and how they became friends. You see the bridge has only been there a few years, and these two poor fellows lived across the river from each other and were arch enemies until that bridge was built. This is how they told the story to me. Bubba Hollers to Clarance - If I could swim, I'd swim across that river and whip your butt! Clarance Hollers back to Bubba - Get you some swimmin lessons get your buddy Tom Veale and bring it on! Next day. Bubba Hollers to Clarance - If I had me one of them their Ranger Bass boat's I'd motor over there and whip your butt!! Clarance Hollers back to Bubba - Get you one of them fine Ranger's like Bernie's got and bring it on!!! Next day. Bubba is walking down the river bank trying to figure out how he's gonna get across that river so he can whip Clarance's butt. Along walks up his 3rd Cousin RH, who asks him what the problem is? Bubba precedes to tell him his problem and his cousin RH informs him that just 2 miles down the bank they have built a new Bridge at Helena. So off Bubba goes to cross the bridge and to finally whip Clarance's butt. Two hours later - Cousin RH sees Bubba walking back, shakin and shivering like he has see the ghost of Tom Veale and Bernie!!! Cousin RH asks what happened? Bubba precedes to tell how he made it to the bridge and when he started to cross he saw this Big Yellow Sign that read Clarance 12' 9".<ggg> Love that fishing! Keith
