Why would you expect tax related selling next week in particular? There was no spike in volume a year ago. Presumably, investors who habitually sell only after holding a year would be selling just as many shares whether they bought in Aug, Sept, Oct, etc. What significance do the lows in Oct. have?

Generally speaking tax selling relates to realizing losses and does not apply to stocks that have appreciated.

Yeah I can see why I would sell my Q shares and pay 43% of the gains to the feds and California. What, are you crazy?

Think about selling at $650...if the news remains the same, rethink at $1000. :)

I would that might be more of a concern starting late March, 2000 when Qcom got on the radar screen and a lot of new investors bought. However, I would expect that most folks would take 10 or 20% of their position off the table and continue to hold the rest.

On another subject, does anyone know about GSL modem technology and its prospects, investment wise?
