Anybody given thought to what the proposed WorldCom - Sprint merger might mean to Cisco and Lucent? If I remember correctly Sprint is primarily a Cisco shop while WorldCom is mostly a Lucent (Ascend) shop. I know that when the MCI and WorldCom networks were merging there was a lot of speculation over who would emerge as the big winner. I think that the Ascend product line came out on top but I don't have the numbers. Any thoughts? Cheers, Steve

William, I have the same impression from looking at the numbers that are available. I have not seen or heard of any slowdown in regards to spending on any of the telco equipment. Neither the RBOC's or ISP's that I have followed have indicated a slowdown at all in regards to y2k which would be the only reason for a momentary halt at this point. I guess that we will find out for sure in 2 weeks. Brian
