Mark, I think you chose the wrong analogy to get your point through, Period. Next time try a chiasmus. 90% of your post do not challenge the long's positions, but the longs themselves. Both sides should stick to the issues and not the personalities. Everyone will benefit, IMHO. Beg to differ, Markie; the reason most people would like you to leave the board is that the majority of your posts eventually degenerate into gratuitous insults, maligning people's character, or intelligence, or moral makeup just because they happen to disagree with you. And you have the temerity to wrap yourself in the self-righteous flag of "Defender of the Faith" of self expression. I do feel sorry for you; you should really consider getting some good psychiatric counseling. You need it badly. P.S. And I can predict right now that your response will be that you insult others only because they've insulted you first. Which I would guess is the typical response that one would expect from someone like you.
