Heinz, imo the market ignores interest rates, which is dangerous , just as the market ignored many great earnings reports and sold the news at the July top which was bearish, the market is now ignoring bads news and rallying which is bullish, of course it will run out of buyers at some time, just as they ran out of sellers off the july top on 8/10.

Referring back to the mccllelan oscillator chart the market has been under siege since the april top, a relief rally, which could turn into a blow-off is not out of the question.

heinz blasnik: , could be...blow-off in the works?

The blow-off started Oct 98 and raced up to move above the 25 year rising trading channel of my OMC (Overall Market Composite) Index last December. From December the Overall Market began a topping off process culminating with what may have been the top in July.

Of course, if you look at an Index that is not comprised of the traditional weightings you would note that the VGY (Value Line Geometric Index) topped out in April of 1998.
