Not my field, so please, someone correct me if I'm wrong but every reference I've ever seen has yield as the percentage of good chips, not the number of chips per wafer - so the reason Jerry sounded so happy about the yield increase at .18 was it meant a quadrupling of good die per wafer over the .25 process. Double the percentage of good chips times twice as many good chips per wafer.
