PB, Re: <Unless AMD is sandbagging, as Yougang speculated, I don't foresee AMD's process/device combination scaling any better than Intel's Aluminum process and mature uP core for the remainder of this year and through '00>

So, it has been your competitive analysis all along about AMD's bin splits without any hard facts from AMD. With your process expertise credibility behind you; I think, you are creating unnecessary doubt about Athlon speed bin splits. For most of us, it's very difficult to question your input in the absence of actual facts. I could be wrong, but I remember you posting many times expressing doubts if AMD can produce any reasonable amount of Athlons based on Sharkey's comments that Athlons won't be available to DIY users until Q1'00.

In Q3, AMD produced 350K Athlon units. From JC's report on AMD CC ****** Q: 200,000 Athlons at ~$300, can you tell us the mix? --A(Sanders):I won't, but the speed bin distribution wasn't limited by production (JC comments? - eg: bin-splits are being determined largely by market). The distribution on speeds is terrific. ***** Please don't take it wrong; but this info from the CC, shedding some doubt in my mind on your analysis/info that you have been feeding us.
