Yes. Now that you have reminded me how sure that is to come and confound, looking at just how bad USW is, and how the profitability horizon keeps receding, QWST is no longer of interest. Thanks for waking me up and reminding me of the many ways in which the bear prowls.

I have read those arguments about DSL too and would sure hate to see them accepted as gospel. DSL mediocre? I think alot of people would disagree with the statement on multiple fronts. Once an acceptable standard is implemented I believe it will prove far more popular that alternative broadband technologies. I know this is not a broadband forum but when someone makes a statement like that I think they should point out it is purely opinion. (Like this post). Not a factual comment. GR

The setup is cheap ($200/mo/office), fast (384KB/sec) and reliable. The alternatives were ISDN (same cost, slower, no simultaneous internet access), or frame relay/T1 (much more expensive, no simultaneous internet access). So it's hard for me to see how DSL is such a mediocrity. I'm close to getting it at home myself since it offers such great speed for such a reasonable cost. It's going to be a long time before there is fiber to the home and I think DSL is going to explode in popularity in the next year or two; far outpacing cable. Therefore, I think DSL is going to be a big part of QWST's future, either directly by QWST/USW offering it or indirectly by simply creating the bandwith demand on the internet generally.
