Larry:

The real FA reason: HAL said so. Is he not the new uncle Alan for chips now or atleast MU? (G)

Impeccable track record the last few days. Even the most fundamental of believers in FA may have to concede and be convinced that HAL knows his (or her?) stuff.

Larry, >>Maybe dram prices have dropped or some thing like that ????

CNBC just gave information from a couple of houses that DRAM spot prices are down and now believe they will be around $7 in the future. I did not hear the MU $150 stock price being touted. <ggg>

Dell Says Taiwan Computer-Chip Production Is Recovering

NEW YORK -- The short-term situation for Taiwan computer component production is "favorable," said Dell Computer Corp. Vice Chairman Kevin Rollins.

Production of chips for Dell's computers was interrupted because of damage from a recent earthquake. "Many of the critical suppliers are coming back on line," said Rollins. "We're working very hard to reinstitute supply lines and get logistics working, and so far, so good."

Rollins said it isn't yet clear what the long-term impact of the earthquake may be.

However, he remains "bullish on the industry at large," for which he expects a 14% to 18% growth rate, driven by both consumer and corporate sector growth.

Dell (DELL) has seen an 85% annual growth rate as of the second quarter for its enterprise products category, which includes servers.

"We're moving our model from a physical-direct to an Internet-direct model, and that's driving a lot of the growth," said Rollins.
