the technology is great - look at Nintendo. Problem is that INTC didn't execute well. How else do you explain the 11th hour screw up. Somebody didn't do their job. That, or the technical info got rejected by management somewhere in the chain of command. What worries me is that production has stopped at the Fabs - that gives me the feeling the fix isn't immediately in the works. PRAY I'm paranoid/wrong. Those of you with knowledge about the way fabs operate - is stopping the fab a big deal or is it easy to scale back up?

I can't believe that a company with a reputation of being so tight with money that it's very top executives, including Grove in his day, work out of cubicles & fly 2nd class when they easily could afford big offices & private jets, would devote billions to a technology of only marginal value.

Not intentionally, you mean. You have to consider the possibility that Intel erred.
