ATHM's adding 2000 customers/day means that they'll add about 600,000 customers/year. Big deal. I believe AOL added 900,000 customers last quarter - how many more will be added due to version 5.0. At 600,000 customers/year for ATHM, it would take them 30 years to get to the current subscribed base of AOL. T knows that, ATHM knows that, and everyone on Wall Street knows that. In the meantime, DSL is growing exponentially much faster than cable, HDR wireless is coming within the next year or so and will be a category killer application, and satellite is also coming on. AOL & YHOO have the ad revenues locked up compared to the also-rans including XCIT & Worldnet. Who would any sane company advertise with if given a choice - the 2 ISPs that have the most eyeballs. AOL dominates by far in e-commerce - nothing even comes close - forget about it - that's the way it's going to be. It doesn't take a genius to look at T & ATHM's charts to tell you who is behind the eight ball. JMHO. Good luck all longs.
