For sure, I'm holding only the most oversold stocks GSPN and ADRX and 2 earnings plays (CREE and CBSL), I'm short RHAT, PHCM, BVSN and HOMS... So far so good (down nearly 6 in PHCM but that's like 1/6 of a point in a real stock), I've taken out NTOP short already. But I can sell in a heartbeat if things turn around. I closed my chips and nets positions yesterday and today, but will probably begin other 'swing trade' position closer to the earning report of the few other 'net earners' next week. Its a rough month, October 1999. I usually stick with earnings plays so we'll see. What happened with HIFN, MAT, AVP, REV and CNQR opened my eyes that no stock is immune whether it be a household name for decades or a new IPO. Probably its best to just exit position at the end of the session, but although stepping through minefields so far no explosions. That doesn't mean there won't be in the next 24 or 48 hours. What is for sure is that my investing desire is dwindling and I'm amassing a cash reserve. I hear the analysts talking of stocks that move very slowly and don't interest me. I am still looking for the next "ADIC and PUMA" and I've got some possibles but the only thing I'm sure of is the lack of assurance in any strategy.
