On Thursday, October 7, 1999, between 4:20am and 9:30am EDT,
UUNET experienced routing instability throughout the North
American backbone which may have intermittently affected
connectivity to servers located in the Tysons Corner, VA and
San Jose, CA UUHost Data Centers. During this period, traffic
throughout the UUNET backbone had to be re-routed, which may
have resulted in a a [sic] series of brief periods of time during
which users may have been unable to access your site. This
inability varied throughout North America.

UUNET's redundant network is such that these instances are a
rare occurance [sic], though routing problems do occur from time to
time. We apologize for any inconvenience to you as a result
of this network anomoly [sic].
