BM announce in the Chair Letter or Pres Update last month a Freebie Cost Equipment use with the Manitoba Dept of Mines and Energy deep drill program in Manitoba...I think that means Manitoba is subsidizing any Miner with Permits to cheaply drill Manitoba Permits, something all should take heed of, IMHO. Added Manitoba Info: On the New Announced Drills with close to 300 feet of Limestones: This week past when I had called BM President Doug Rowe he said that the incentatives he will just describe as like a shared payroll thing of a Manitoda Provincial Crew that BM had to pay, yet they got the full advantage of all the equipment and supply logistics, so that the overall cost is so much more favorable. Just now I found this links on my own, so it expains the whole process, I have no idea which specifically apply. But to have the Government Specialists do this work in such a great drill program as is done in Manitoba on BM Permits - this is great team-work! Manitoba Energy and Mines gov.mb.ca gov.mb.ca incentatives: gov.mb.ca Mineral Exploration Assistance Program (MEAP)
First Offering: April 1,1999 $1.1 Million
Two MEAP offerings are scheduled in 1999 to correspond with Manitoba's typical spring/summer and fall/winter exploration phases. The offerings are part of the government's three-year, $8.25 million commitment to help stimulate non-fuel mineral exploration that could ultimately lead to new mine development in Manitoba.
Financial assistance for:
25% of approved eligible exploration expenditures to a maximum of $300,000 per recipient per fiscal year
35% of approved eligible exploration expenditures to a maximum of $400,000 per recipient per fiscal year for the Lynn Lake/Leaf Rapids, and the Northern Superior areas
Second Offering: November 1, 1999
Applications must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on the deadline date. Successful applicants from the first offering will have from April 1 to October 31, 1999 to complete their projects. Approved projects from the second offering will have from November 1, 1999 to March 31, 2000 for completion.

Chucka( are there any good Jokes about the word, Winnipeg? Like a Peg Leg kick from a gal named Margaret. Is a horse with a cold that can't say nah so it has a thorn in the shoe and Winnipeg's the thump on the left hoof ? ) Hoof three times is you get it. Hoof once if you don't. And hoof two times if you think that Doug Rowe just might of added $300,000 of value into the corporation! < assumminhg he got jsut one of the grants listed above! Go BMD- enhance SH Value, get the government to do pro drills at below cost! Dam Bar DAMN, salt over my shoulder- brine under my feet, that is a feat!!! ! >

LONDON, ONTARIO--
Canmine Resources Corporation (TSE Symbol: CMR) will immediately resume nickel exploration on the BINCO Nickel Project, located northeast of the Thompson Nickel Belt in Manitoba. This belt is one of the largest nickel producing regions in the world. Canmine's decision is based on a number of positive developments for the project, illustrating its world-class potential for major new nickel discoveries. As well, nickel prices are showing a strong resurgence as economic recoveries continue in Asia, Europe and South America, and global demand for nickel increases (nickel prices are up to $US2.90 per pound from a 1998 low of about $US1.74 per pound).
Significantly, the geologic map of Manitoba and Canada is now in the process of ..>> Birch Mountain had a PR update last week, the Government of Manitoba with thei Dept of Mines and Energy had a nice drill program done thsi summer on the LIMESTONES that extand into Manatoba under the Permits that BMD has over there ...so there are some Salton Brine Model Hot Spots over there that appear to warrant exploration under the Model they seek targets with, IMHO: PPM fan here also- Bet on the PGMs...not the bay. The brines! So, is this near you folks? Manitoba! birchmountain.com birchmountain.com <<..This spring, Dawson Bay Minerals Inc. was awarded two new Special Exploration Permits in the vicinity of Dawson Bay, Manitoba, totaling 69,100 hectares (170,700 acres).
In June, Dawson Bay Minerals Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Manitoba Energy and Mines to cost share the driling of two prospective anomalies on the Westgate Block. Drilling on the property commenced at the end of July and was completed in early August. The first hole was drilled 38 m (125 ft) into glacial overburden and highly disturbed Cretaceous shale, and was abandoned in unconsolidated sand. The second hole successfully penetrated 26 m (85 ft) into the Devonian section, attaining a total depth of 108 m (357 ft). The core is stored at the Manitoba Energy and Mines Core Storage Facility in Winnipeg and will be logged and sampled in September, 1999. ...//.. We continue to improve our ability to detect precious metals and are progressing steadily towards our goal of accurate and repeatable analyses of gold, silver, platinum and palladium in rocks from Athabasca.
Early in 1999, we completed five drill holes in Athabasca. Despite intersecting altered rock in close proximity to zones previously shown to contain anomalous platinum and gold values, fire assays returned negligible precious metal values. Field activities in early 1999 also included trenching and bulk sampling.
In March, 1999, we initiated an in-house program to resolve inconsistencies between methods used to determine the presence and concentrations of precious metals in rocks from Athabasca. Results previously obtained from detailed core logging, scanning electron microscope imaging and geochemical analysis allow Birch Mountain to identify alteration zones. A series of bulk samples prepared from these altered rocks provides a uniform source of material to develop and test a variety of analytical methods.
We conclude that analyses of surface rocks and drill core, conducted in-house and by others on rocks from Athabasca, conclusively prove the existence of anomalous quantities of gold, silver, platinum, palladium and other precious metals in these rocks. We have had partial success in detecting precious metals (up to 6 gram/tonne gold, 11 gram/tonne platinum, and 1.9 gram/tonne palladium in multiple analyses of bulk sample BJ98-008; news release of July 16, 1999), however we need to improve the consistency of our results. Our development work remains focused on improving analytical repeatability. Work continues with oil sands operators in the Fort McMurray area, on data sharing and access to drill core and limestone exposed during oil sands mining operations. When satisfactory analytical methods are developed, intervals in core available to us from the oil sands operators will be tested for precious metal content.
