May be I'll suggest that to him!

Actually, I know a couple of mechanical systems traders who leave it with their brokers to place the order based on the signals that their systems generate. They do this because they are unsure whether they will be able to follow the system and not second-guess it.

Yeah it is -- when we were putting together the rules for this contest, it was one of he concerns that I had -- but any alternative would have been too complicated. Though this sort of extreme difference with the spoos seems to occur when there is a report of some sort impacting activity. BTW, I show 18.25 as the low on the mini -- this surely cannot be right??

Talking about reports and the market, you have been around doing this long enough to remember how the market waited with bated breath for the latest M1 figure during the Volcker era. At least then it was just the one # the market seemed to focus on -- today there is a host of em.

Ah well, this too shall pass!
