The effective strength of the NDA government will be around 305. In addition to the 293 or so seats the constituents of the NDA got, there are others such as the National Conference who are likely to support and even join the government.

Since India buys little or no military hardware from the US (and relies on outdated Soviet junk instead), it has cause to worry. So, whatever happened to the all those grandiose theories that the US has sided with India and will "punish" Pakistan? Out the window?!<g>
