I'l tell you, MCI was to put one on my system, but they back out because all the paperwork (legal) and tech stuff is not ready. Delay,delay,delay. Wash, DC

I looked at one of the 3com modems packaged at Internet World and it was an A-l-c-a-t-e-l chipset. It could be that others have different silicon for BA but I doubt it. This is the announcement of the offering if you did not see it: biz.yahoo.com.

W/ respect to the Conexant/ Lucent gig, almost everyone uses Conexant for SDSL. I believe they are shipping 1mm chipsets per quarter. My guess is that they have close to 100% of the market. Globespan is making some noise about CAP-based SDSL rather than 2B1Q. But that is a non-item in the marketplace right now. Conexant (except for their Pairgain relationship) is a non-item in the ADSL space.
