<<Guess the street liked the results of yesterday's conference. Do you suppose a few more people are beginning to realize who is dominating this space? Cheers>>

The other day when we saw Goldman buying DELL aggressively in the low 40s was a good sign.....the smart money often moves in before the rest of the herd <G>....I know that Goldman executes most of the trades for the Janus Fund Family -- and their timing is tremendous.....Janus was loading up on AMZN, eBay, AOL, and YHOO in the last few months when they sold off -- most of these blue chip internuts are up about 30-50% since they took action. Who knows, they may feel that DELL is ready to run to new highs and beyond. IMO, the current quarter will be a VERY strong one for DELL. Their e-commerce marketing machine and new consumer initiatives should stimulate a lot of profitable growth. I also expect solid gains in the server and storage marketplaces. DELL is firing on all 16 cylinders and should gather momentum as we close in on Y2K, IMO.

Best Regards,

Scott

Alohal--Really excellent report on Dell Analyst conference from Prudential. Very favorable discussion of Dell prospects in
storage, smb, and for year 2000.

Hi guys,

I cannot believe Compaq is at 21 $ or so...

That is close to their 52-week low....

Wow...

I know their PC strategies suck, their tandem acquisition is a disaster, and that their service strategy is NOT going to pay off , at least very well in the short-term.

But, theyr still make the best X86 based superservers in the market, with Dell a close second....

I guess that the server business , the ProLiants and stuff cannot carry the rest of the company.

I guess I answered my own statement/question..... <g>

Still what an ignominous situation for the company that rolled out 386 PC's before anybody else, including the market leader at the time, IBM

History lesson over

Jean
