<< Free Speech rules, imho, absent something heinous like threats or kiddie porn or spam.
>>

That's the crux of the matter! I read this article on WSJ and voted YES. Anthony is interesting reading, a little over agressive, but considering his line of business he prolly has to be so.
Having said that, I have mixed feelings about rescinding a decision that was ostensibly made on the basis of a clear set of rules. Perhaps, the SI community should vote on the "Terms of Use" of SI on a point by point basis in order to come up with a "popular" version of same. Otherwise, a special vote reeks of partiality towards a "celebrity". The WSJ article mentions that 5-10 users get booted off SI every month--presumably on the charge of "violation of Terms of Use"--perhaps they should all be individually voted on?
Or maybe the whole thing is a publicity stunt from Anthony, or even SI?
In any case, I hope I don't get whaled on/booted off SI for typing my minds...

I don't think this a free speech issue at all.

If there's something on TV I don't like (rap music, WWF, the Church of the Everlasting Solicitation...), I change the channel. So far the TV networks haven't actually come to my door and asked me what I like to watch.

But SI offered me a chance to voice my opinion. A strange and foolish move on their part, I think, but this is just a popularity contest. Do you like A&P or not?

I don't.
