Yes, I blame it all on them for keeping India so poor and backward even after 50 years of power.

Well, that's scapegoating. Not that the Nehru/Gandhi dynasty is lily-white. Far from it. However, the problems won't go away if they are gone. They are much deeper. The indifferent bureaucrats and the glorified clerks in India's public institutions -- be it in the railways, or at the taluk office, or in the electricity boards, or at the airports, will remain just as they are, whether or not the Nehru dynasty is around. The roads will remain as crappy whether or not the Nehru dynasty is around. The air in the cities will remain as polluted whether or not the Nehru dynasty is around. The criminal justice system will remain as moribund whether or not the Nehru dynasty is around. The water will remain as filthy whether or not the Nehru dynasty is around. (Actually, it is a safe bet that most of these problems will actually get worse, whether or not the Nehru dynasty is around). And on and on and on.

These things have a cultural context that simply cannot be erased by merely displacing a few symbols. Yes, people may dance all they want in front of overflowing garbage bins to celebrate the latest "victory", but the overflowing garbage bins will continue to be overflowing garbage bins!<g>
