I like meat, too, but I also like fancy restaurants where a meal is a work of art. As I told Johannes, I balk at the super expensive places, unless it is a very special occasion, and even the next level down, I usually reserve for birthdays or congratulatory dinners (like when my wife has made a big deal). The most I have spent on dinner in the past year was about $200 (at the Tavern on the Green in New York), and that was for the three of us, no wine or liquor, including tip......I have come close elsewhere when it was just my wife and me, with wine, but even at French restaurants, if you work it right (like Early Bird menus), three people, no booze, can make it out for about 70 or 80 bucks.....On a normal weekend, Old Country Buffet or the Double T Diner often do, though.....
