Gimme a break. The fact that a label has not yet been applied to something does not mean it does not exist.

Do you think dislike of homosexuals did not exist until the word "homophobia" was invented?

AND I question your "the word "anti-Semite" wasn't invented until the early 1960's".

But try m-w.com
Main Entry: an·ti-Sem·i·tism
Date: 1882
: hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group

"anti Semite" is a strange word, isn't it? To confuse, as it usually does, anti Judaism or antio Jews with hating the whole linguistic category, or more explicitly, all Semites (including Arabs and Assyrians.) I think you are wrong on the date of birth of "anti Semitism" --"Semitism" seems to have been used in 1885 in connection with "opponents of (political Semitism)" (OED) so the movement to anti Semitism may have been pretty quick.
