TST, I see you've lightened up a bit, but I already wrote this and it's not real nasty so I'll go ahead and post it. I try to understand the technical aspects of a technology company. I feel like it gives me an edge. I feel super vulnerable when I don't know what's going on -- vertiginous feelings. I have no way of assessing the technical points being made and frankly I usually don't read them in their entirety. But I follow and scan and assess who is winning ground, who sounds most qualified, and once in a while you hear a summary that a layman can understand. In the Rambus case you had three bears and about the same number of tech-bulls. For the most part the exchanges were civil and without rancor. If anyone, I'd say it was the bulls who got upset easier. Dan has good info but seems to suffer bias-related mistakes the most. KZNerd, I thought the most balanced and also very well informed and knowledgeable. Bilow was the most powerful and completely tipped the scales. Hell, the pronouncements regarding the problem in the first press releases could have been copied and pasted right from his posts (which were written BEFORE the blow-up). Am I the only one to notice this prescience? What do the bears have to be bitter about? They called it. If anything they should be gloating, but they're not -- they're just maintaining their position. I hope Rambus does well, or at least gives people an opportunity to exit painlessly. I have no idea what will happen, but I know what I'm NOT going to do with my money. w
