Actually there are two main flavors of DSL. The g-lite version that 99% of the rbocs are rolling out tops out at about 1.5 mb under ideal conditions. Pricing will come down when both cable and DSL are available. The other flavor is ADSL. It will do 8 mbit under ideal conditions. Technologies will develop that will improve the through put for both cable and DSL.

All I am saying is that it will be far more competitive than some here on this thread think. Neither technology has a lock on consumers.
