Nihil, Believe me, I fully agree that it appears that many of the Founding Fathers were Christian in appearances only, and certainly did not intend for America to be a Christian country. In fact they went out of their way to make sure it wasn't. However, it was hypocrisy. It matters not what people "usually" did. To profess one thing(strong religious viewpoints) in order to curry favor and secretly believe something altogether different is hypocrisy no matter how you slice it. It appears that politics throughout the ages has not changed much:-) Mark
