I admit I wouldn't have thought of that! << The stories and accounts were transcribed by flawed human beings and handed down verbatim. The remarkable thing is nobody altered anything to have all the stories jibe. >> You're assuming that when the errors were made, they had the contradicting text in front of them. And there's another problem. Changing the text when multiple, widely scattered copies exist... Well, now you do have a problem.
