I have to post this experience that I had yesterday which is akin to what John Paul Getty had before the 1929 crash. Of course I am no Getty but it bears mentioning.

I was in cab headed to the airport, and during the conversation with the cabbie, learn't that he plays the stock market in his spare time! Mainly Inuts and some techs (of course!). After a few minutes he goes on to say that he is planning to quit his cabbie job and go fulltime into trading! Oh yes, he knows the volatility involved, he has taken a couple of classes that has taught him all tricks on when to buy and sell!

I was almost tempted to remind him that a guy called Barton recently was involved with a daytrading center as well (and we know what happened to him!), but I did not wish to distract him from his driving!

I asked him if bonds or metals interested him, naaah! I asked him about the interest rates, and his response "whats that got to do with the stock market" (!) and that he could not understand all the "worries" (what me worry, kid?!)!

There, it is clear that the trading mania is extremely deep-rooted, EVERYBODY is playing this casino. There is NO FEAR!

Have any of you had experiences like this, running into Daytrader Joe Blow on the street?
