Did advertising help CNET? It's low was about 27 in August, now at 59 - doubled in three months. Anyone notice the advertising campaign?. It seems to be everywhere. I was just in New York City and even in the subway CNET has poster advertisements. Their campaign let me know that I should checkout their site when I am purchasing a second printer. Did their advertising/promotional campaign help to double the stock? Can't deny that they were spending millions at the same time their stock came back so strong.

I have an advertising background and worked for a Madison Avenue agency many, many years ago. An advertising course in college pointed out that Hershey Chocolate was the only major company in the U.S. that did not advertise and still had a major consumer share of the market. Along came Nestle with an aggressive advertising campaign that started to chip away at market share. Guess what? Hershey caved in and started advertising. When I was a kid I sang the jingle "Pepsi Cola hits the spot" Now my grandson goes around singing "Your discount broker!" I don't like to think that CNBC has subliminally entered his subconscious, but it does make a point about the value of advertising.
