interestingly, i recently reinstalled ie4.0 (i'm not yet sold on 5.0, sorry) and i decided to add on outlook express while i was at it. all i can say is that my pc's performance took a turn for the worse almost immediately. everything from sluggishness to invalid page faults began to occur and increase. some of us keep a close eye on what components we add or subtract from our systems. the correlation was just too great for me to not notice. so i invited outlook express (and a few of the other ie4.0 browser add-ons) to leave. <g3>

things have returned to normal around the old pc homestead since then. call it coincidence or call it directly related. doesn't matter to me. i drew my own conclusions and outlook express got gone.

:)

I just did a virus scan with no viruses found. Thanks for the tip. Astragate gave me the settings to check, and they were all as ordered. The driver error message was still there when I booted up this morning, although at a different place now that I started installing the new Netscape browser.

Another funny thing is the first page that comes up when I start Expl. is MSN, which changed after I downloaded the new Netscape. I went to My Computer and changed it back to my old opening page from MSN but when I closed and reopened Expl. I got the damn MSN again as my opening page.

Changing the subject back again to my driver problem, is there a place to go to get a device driver?
