Xmas notes from the Industry Standard : LEADER OF THE PACK: PC Data's latest "E-tailing Report" reveals that shoppers flooded the Net in September, resulting in a record number of buyers at major sites and pushing the number of Amazon.com's buyers to more than 1 million for the month. The top three Net retailers for September were Amazon.com, Drugstore.com and Barnesandnoble.com. TRACKING TRANSACTIONS: Net performance measurement firm Keynote Systems announced the launch of the second version of Keynote Perspective. The updated service allows businesses to track e-commerce transactions, such as online shopping and electronic banking, and obtain a detailed performance analysis. MERRY E-CHRISTMAS: Fifty-two percent of adults in the United States who surf the Net plan to make purchases online during the holidays, reports a new AtPlan-Gallup poll. Of those surveyed, 51 percent expect to spend less at offline stores, and 27 percent will spend less through catalogs, in favor of Net shopping.
