Suretrade commercial is horrible. Looks like MTV News. To much humorless pretension. Maybe they could have Stuart saying, "We're not relying on 100 shares of K Mart."

Oh Shit --- I feel another rant coming on ...

I often wonder what kind of brain-dead morons dream up TV commercials: They miss their target demographics by such a wide margin. You're right about advertising a product suitable for high net-worth individuals using a cast of characters who, in real life, would be as far from the targeted consumer as one could possibly get.

It brings to mind a Mercedes-Benz commercial a few years ago featuring a group of twenty-something yahoos hot-rodding across the desert. Are the idiots who made this ad blind? Anyone I've seen driving these cars look like mature, successful professionals.

I find CNBC's addiction to the MTV type background music especially annoying. I'm sure most watching this channel would not identify with this type of noise (music?) and find it irritating.

While I'm at it, I get really pissed-off about rapid, flashing, images, and especially those where unusual camera angles are used as a substitute for creativity by some weak minded director. These type of images have been known to cause epileptic seizures in baboons. Are the advertisers hoping some baboon will grab our credit cards and place an order?

I don't know if I'm alone here, but it seems TV programming has been deteriorating steadily for quite a few years. I've tried to turn up the 'brightness' control on my set, but it doesn't seem to help.

Cheers, PW.
